Why Christians get a bad name

Dear 'Enemy',

Thank you very much for your in-depth, small-minded and ill-considered criticisms. May I also thank you for your assistance in continuing the negative perception of Christians in the non-Christian societies.

I am both a Christian (born-again, bible believing, baptised - in water and fire. Just so you can label me!) and an American. Moreover, I was the animator on BloodSpell.

That said, let me expand on some things my colleagues have already stated but bear repeating. BloodSpell is a fantasy film - much the same as Lord of the Rings or The Chronicles of Narnia which also make reference to magic, monsters and other-worldly religions both good and bad and both of which were written by Christians.

Also, your offensive and unrestrained vernacular regarding certain other types of human beings is far from Christian. Remember how the scriptures teach us to love and tolerate, hate the sin but love the sinner. They also command us to be in the world but not of it. That does not mean secluding ourselves away from everything that might not be of God but rather to be in the middle of it and to be examples - or lights - by not succumbing to other ways. After all Jesus hung out with the sinners and tax-collectors, not the Pharisees, how can we make a difference or hope to understand others if we are surrounded by people the same as us. But then, you've already demonstrated that you only seem to have a selective understanding of biblical teaching.

Finally, think before you type. Get your facts straight before you start. Don't feel you can degrade anyone because they are different. And the reason Christians are so often bashed? Because hey set themselves up for it so easily and not enough complain out loud or are willing to promote a positive image.

Thank you for reading.
